No matter what the problem, the enemy uses all sorts of things to sweep “over your soul” like “raging waters.” The result is often the same: you feel like your soul is drowning. This is exactly what David is describing in Psalm 124. He is recounting a time when he felt like his soul was being swept away by raging waters. The only thing keeping him from being swept away? The Lord who is on our side.
