In the midst of Rezin and Pekah’s invasion of Judah, God sent Isaiah to the wicked King Ahaz to offer him hope. Ahaz’s “heart and the hearts of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake with the wind.” Isaiah’s first words from the Lord to Ahaz were”Take care and be calm, have no fear and do not be fainthearted…” Unfortunately for him, Ahaz rejected God’s deliverance. Instead of trusting in God, Ahaz turned to Assyria for help. We should learn from Ahaz' mistake by accepting God's deliverance for us.
